Take part in air experience flights at your local airfield.
All Cadets and Officers who are members of the GVCAC Flying Club have the opportunity to take part in air experience flights either at a local airfield or it could be undertaken whilst attending camps. Some Areas organise Area Flying Days, which often include a tour of the Airfield and could also include a visit to the air traffic control tower.
Besides flying, Cadets may also get the opportunity to go gliding, or even hop on board a helicopter flight.
Cadets are entitled to at least two subsidised flights each year. This is a great opportunity for the Cadets as they get the opportunity to put the theory they learn into practice.
Air Experience flights are also available with the RAF for RAF Recognised Units, an amazing experience flying with the Royal Air Force at one of their bases.
During your time as a Cadet you will also be studying towards various Aviation Awards (including Gliding). There are also opportunities for Flying and Gliding Scholarships (external) that could see you achieving your Private Pilot’s Licence. The sky really is your limit.
